This time last year

walking through the woods under a golden tree in fall

This time last year Tom and I were in Michigan visiting family. These photos come from time spent at Tom’s family’s cabin, set deep into the woods about 45 minutes by car from where we grew up. I hope you’ll enjoy reminiscing with me for a bit, in the midst of all the craziness that greets us as October exits this year.

several tall, thin trees in fall without leaves standing in a row in the woods

pumpkin carving (left) and animal tracks in the soil in the woods (right)

two shots, at slightly different points in time, of two girls running in the woods toward their grandfather

Martha, how fun for us to see those pictures, thank you! The final one sent shivers down my back—what a haunting expression and caught so poignantly—!
